Joseph is an Elixir enthusiast and embedded engineer based in Southern California, with a long track record of building and shipping embedded devices and network products for both consumer and industrial markets.
The path started early: an uncle who worked as an electronic technician at Oak Ridge National Laboratory handed him circuit kits and a Radio Shack TRS-80, and from then on the career was going to involve “wires, components, and lines of code.”
These days he blogs and tinkers at octetta.com, where a lot of that tinkering points at sound. His live audio-coding work - with the performance-critical bits in C and the orchestration reaching up into the BEAM, plus a MIDI library built with a fellow LFE-er - has been shown as a lightning talk at ElixirConf EU and as a full talk at ADC in Tokyo. Away from the keyboard he hikes, meditates, and gets outdoors with his family and pets.
